Cape Town - first days

Hi folks,
i am still alive and enjoying my first days here in Cape Town, or more precisly in Bellville, a nothern suburb of Cape Town. The first week was incredible, a lot of contrasts.

Some of the highlights:
Saturday:
Flight to Cape Town, that I almost missed, due to relaxed drivers...
Dinner with Mandy, my contact person and her husband Rod.

Sunday:
Plan was to explore the city with Andres, Katha and Marius, some AFS guys.
Then our car broke down and we had to go by Minibus-Taxi, peruvian collectivo, to the place of the three to cook some Röstis.
Later we had church, quite impressive, because Rod spoke.

Monday:

First day at work. Quite ard to speak afrikaans, because just a few clients speak english. Later we had some south african wine.

Tuesday:
Got up at 6.00h to perform my first run in like 4 months with two clients and Jan - 15k in 1.30h. Alice in Wonderland and a mall later that evening.

Wednesday:
Special Olympics - 1st round: Amazing event! All the mentally disbled people showed impressive performance.

Later my first Braai (south african for barbecue) wit Rieki and her husband and Phillip, am german coordinator for AFS, who works in Jo'Burg.

Thursday:

Again 15k before breakfast, then my first work day without Jans Support!
Later my first tour to Cape Twon, signal hill with an amazing sunset!
Some drinks at Long Street.

Friday:
The clients refused to go for another 15k before breakfast, so I stayed in bed until 7.45, helping at breakfast.
In the evening, an amazing braai with Jan friends and a colleague in a black suburb - best party so far. Really, really friendly!!

Saturday:

Little run in the morning, visiting a Rugby and a Netball (Korbball) match nearby.
Now getting ready for carneval at Greenmarket Square!

To be continued!
