Week 4

Hi guys,
a lot of stuff happened in the last week.

Thursday:
We signed in for a soccer club named "CR Vasco da Gama" which is located in Parow, so quite close to Bellville, where we stay. The first team of Vasco just qualified for the PSL (Premier Soccer League), which is the first league in South Africa (=Bundesliga). The first team is profesional, means they practise every day from 5 to 7.30pm, so we get the chance to watch them every tuesday and friday from 7-9 pm before our practise starts... quite good boys... Jan and me right are being judged by the head coaches of the other teams.

Friday:

Old Mutual Two Oceans 5k Fun Run with some of Jans friends: Unfortunately I twisted my ankle and still have problems with that. The fun run was nice, but the weather was way to hot at 2pm. In the everning we stayed over at Charlotte's placefor a noodle party with our athlets.

Saturday:
Got up at 4, the marathon started at 6am. The ealy bird catches the worm. We started pretty slow, due to a lot of traffic (in total over 22,000 people were running). Last 5k really fast, finished with both of our clients with a good time of about 2:15h. Later at the airport to say goodbye to Jans sister, we met so many Runners, incredible...

Later to a party and to another party and another...
Stayed over at Jeromes and Didreys place.

Eastersunday:

Family lunch with the family of Didrey! After that the nicest streetparty of my life in Msolis, incredible! Later watching illegal street races :) Stayed over again at Didreys.

Monday:

Factory Outlet buying some protection shields, soccer shoes, socks and a ball! Made id photos for soccer. Got a really nice haircut for 20 Rand (2 Euro). Thats even cheaper than in Peru (12 Soles=3 Euro). Was the first client who got a haircut with scissors... Later we tried CapeTownian Railway system: 1 hour waiting time was a mess, but the tran was quite fast (faster than Minibustaxi...)

Tuesday:
First soccer practise: We exercised with the head coach, quite hard, but good!
Saw Messi scoring 4 goals in our new club house with view on table mountain, lions head and signal hill. Thats incredible!!

Wednesday:
My birthday :) Got the best birthday-song of my life in our church at the project!
Later dinner with Mandy and Rod (Sushi for 5 Euros...) and then Bayern beating ManU. Everybody in our club more or less supports ManU (english soccer is really a big deal here). "The two germans" were lucky to win!

Thursday:
First match for the new team: Won 2:1. Jan and me both scored and assited once. The second half without us was pretty bad and we almost lost :)

Friday:

Birthday Braai was cancelled because of rain, problems with the room (they build new office space in our staff room out of the blue...).

Saturday:
Second friendly match: 3:2 won, missed a good shot in the first minute but scored the 1:0 and assisted the 2:0 :P Second half I was the referre, which was not an easy deal! Gave a penalty for out team for the 3:0, but then we got into some trouble and 3:1 and 3:2. In the last second I almost gave a penalty for the other team for the 3:3, but it was out of the box, wasn't it ;)

Now stag party / bachelor's party of Joe's cousin, nice, very nice!!
